Country Creatures Chef Series 2024

We are thrilled to announce two very exciting chefs for our Country Creatures Chef Series this year. Calum Franklin on 5th June and Will Bowlby, Kricket on 6th November.

Calum Franklin, 5th June

Dubbed “The Pie King” by Jamie Oliver, Calum Franklin is an award-winning chef and author and one of the most exciting culinary talents in the UK. Following his appointment as Executive head chef of Holborn Dining Room in 2014, Calum has combined deeply traditional cooking techniques with clever flavour combinations to create a comforting yet contemporary British menu. In 2018, Calum designed and opened Holborn Dining Room’s Pie Room, a treasure trove of savoury delicacies full of intricate creations. Calum’s beautiful latticework and creativity in pie making have earned him a cult following on social media. In 2019 Calum was awarded Best Hotel Chef in the UK at the prestigious Catey Awards. Expect a menu embracing British seasonal flavours and perhaps a pie or two! Watch this space.

Will Bowlby, 6th November

Will is the co-founder and Executive Chef of Kricket, the celebrated Indian inspired restaurant. Will with his co-founder Rik Campbell opened their first permanent restaurant in Soho in January 2017, earning and retaining a Michelin Bib Gourmand in the first year. They now have three restaurants across London. Will was classically trained in London where he spent two years under Rowley Leigh. He subsequently moved to Mumbai to become Head Chef of a new European restaurant, winning multiple awards. While living in Mumbai, he developed a passion for Indian cuisine and culture. Upon his return, Will worked under Vivek Singh at the Cinnamon Club, where he became Sous Chef. It was after this that Will was able to combine his classical training with a knowledge and passion for Indian food, resulting in the creation of Kricket’s unique menus.
