Once the gardener’s cottage to the nearby Ewen Manor, this building has lived a few good lives. Today, original beams, open fires and wooden floors nod to its past, while considered touches by local designers lend a quiet sense of balance and modern refinement.
Whether you’re here for a countryside retreat or a glass of red at the bar after a walk, you’ll find an easy welcome and a pub that feels warmly well-lived-in.
Our menus evolve with the seasons, guided by the best produce we can get our hands on. Each dish is created with a drink in mind – from a properly kept pint to a thoughtfully chosen bottle of wine.
Come away to the country and make yourself at home in one of our nineteen bedrooms, created for unhurried Cotswold escapes. Soft limewashes by Edward Bulmer, well-chosen antiques and original features give each room its own story. None are identical, and a select few spill out onto private terraces overlooking the hills – best enjoyed with a morning coffee or something stronger as the sun drops.
There are quiet nooks for smaller get-togethers, and private rooms ready for occasions that deserve a little more space. From generous feasts and big birthdays to relaxed countryside weddings, our Grade II-listed pub provides a setting rich in character and entirely yours for the day.
In our two peaceful treatment rooms, our experienced therapists offer a thoughtful menu of treatments using 100 Acres products – an invitation to slow down and switch off.

The first in our series of workshops for nature lovers with Andrea, our resident beekeeper, forager and wine expert. Enjoy an introduction to beekeeping and honey making, including an apiary visit, honey tasting, lunch, honey cocktail making and your own jar of honey to take home.
🍽️ Shawarma Saturdays. Every Saturday, 2pm–6pm
Join us in the garden for freshly made shawarma flatbreads from our outdoor BBQ, drinks from the bar and live music throughout the afternoon. If the British weather has other plans, we`ll simply bring the party indoors.
🦞 Lobster, Fries & Fizz. Every Friday from 6pm.
